The Shaykh of Islam says regarding the innovators who call to Islam, such as the Asha'irah and the Mu'tazilah, and states that their work is praiseworthy because they transfer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Shaykh of Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) says regarding the innovators who call to Islam, such as the Asha'irah and the Mu'tazilah, and states: "Their work is praiseworthy, because they transfer these people from disbelief, which keeps its owner in the Fire, to Islam, even if the person is an innovator." And in this age, are there any who follow this pattern of the deviant callers who have strayed from the methodology of the people of the Sunnah and the community? What is the opinion of the honorable Shaykh (may Allah have mercy on him)?

The Shaykh : My opinion, regardless of whether this statement by the Shaykh of Islam is correct or not, because I have not found it, but I have not encompassed what the Shaykh of Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote.
But I say that calling to good is good, from whomever it comes, and accepting the truth is obligatory from whomever it is, even to the point that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) approved the truth that the polytheists said, in His saying:
And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. وإذا فعلوا فاحشة قالوا وجدنا عليها آباءنا والله أمرنا بها قل إن الله لا يأمر بالفحشاء
[Al-A'raf 7:28]
. So He refuted their saying:
and Allah has ordered us to do it
[Al-A'raf 7:28]
, and He remained silent regarding their saying:
We found our fathers doing it
[Al-A'raf 7:28]
because it is truth.
And when Shaytan said to Abu Hurayrah: "Shall I direct you to a verse in the Book of Allah, if you recite it in a night, a guardian from Allah will not cease to be over you, and no Shaytan will approach you until you become morning," so he informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of that, and he said to him:
He has told you the truth, and he is a liar
.
And when a scholar from the Jews came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "We find that Allah the Exalted places the heavens on a finger, and the earths on a finger... the hadith," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed in affirmation of the scholar's statement and recited:
They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be [within] His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand
[Az-Zumar 39:67]
.
So the truth is accepted, but I fear that this caller—who has innovations—will transfer the people to his innovation, especially if he has eloquence and clarity, and at that time the people will live upon innovation, and this is the problem. And there is no doubt that transferring people from disbelief to an innovation that does not make one a disbeliever is better, but I fear that this innovation will remain in their hearts and they will believe that it is the Sunnah.
