He had a debt and died without leaving a bequest to pay it off

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17762 )
Q 2: What is the ruling on one who had a debt and died without leaving a bequest to pay it off ?
Vol. 2: If the deceased has an estate, it is obligatory to settle his debt from it, even if he did not bequeath it. If he has no estate, it is recommended for his heirs or others to pay it on his behalf. If it is not paid, the debt remains a liability on his person. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
