Q5: What is the degree of authenticity of this hadith: .
A5: This hadith was mentioned by al-Suyuti in (al-Jami' al-Saghir) and he attributed it to al-Bayhaqi in (al-Shu'ab), and he indicated its weakness; because it contains Bishr ibn al-Sari , who was criticized for his Jahmiyyah affiliation. And in (Majma' al-Zawa'id) it is stated: It was narrated by Abu Ya'la from Aisha , and it contains Mus'ab ibn Thabit , whom Ibn Hibban deemed trustworthy, while a group of scholars deemed it weak. And in (al-Taqrib) it is stated that the hadith is weak. However, the meaning of the hadith is correct, for it is recommended for the believer to do his work with excellence and to perform it in the most perfect manner according to the Shari'ah, whether in prayer, fasting, or otherwise. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
