Fatwa No. ( 18858 )
Q: There is an organization that employs a number of preachers in da'wah work, and it requires them at the end of each month to submit a report on their da'wah activities, such as lessons, seminars, and lectures, to be forwarded to the owner of the endowment. Some of the preachers have a concern in their hearts about this report, feeling that it undermines their sincerity for Allah and is closer to showing off. The question is: Is this practice permissible? I mean the requirement to submit a report on da'wah activities, and does it undermine sincerity or not?
A: Requiring the organization responsible for da'wah work to prepare monthly reports on the activities they performed during the month, to be submitted to the owner of the endowment, does not undermine sincerity for Allah, nor is it a matter of showing off, provided that the preacher preparing the report intends to clear his conscience and inform the owners of the endowment of what he actually did, so that the overseer of the endowment can verify that the funds spent on the preachers were used in their proper place. In fact, this is what the work requires, as it encourages productivity in the work, appreciates those who are productive, and motivates competition and diligence.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
