The competent woman’s disposal of her wealth
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 7579 )
Q3: If a woman is competent, does she have the absolute right to dispose of her wealth, or is that right restricted by her guardian or her husband? And if one of them orders her to spend in a certain way and the other forbids it, which of the two is she more entitled to obey?
A3: A competent woman has the absolute right to dispose of her wealth, whether by giving charity or by any other permissible disposal, and this right is not restricted by the permission of a husband or a guardian, due to the many pieces of evidence indicating this. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
