Jihad on Women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 9533 )
Q: Is jihad not obligatory for women; is it jihad of da'wah or jihad against disbelievers?
A: Jihad against disbelievers by fighting is not obligatory for women, but they have the obligation of jihad through calling to the truth and explaining the legislation, within limits that do not violate their sanctity, while wearing what covers their 'awrah, avoiding free mixing with men who are not mahram, and avoiding softness in speech and seclusion with non-mahram men. Allah
the Exalted said regarding the wives of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and wisdomوَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَى فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ
[Al-Ahzab 33:34]
And it is established
From 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: I said, O Messenger of Allah, is there any jihad for women? He said: Yes, they have a jihad in which there is no fighting: Hajj and 'Umrahعن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: قلت يا رسول الله هل على النساء من جهاد؟ قال: نعم، عليهن جهاد لا قتال فيه: الحج والعمرة
, narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majah, and it is also established from her that she said:
O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We consider Jihad as the best deed. Should we not fight in Allah's Cause?" He said, "The best Jihad (for women) is Hajj-Mabrur (i.e. Hajj which is done according to the Prophet's tradition and is accepted by Allah).قالت: يا رسول الله نرى الجهاد أفضل العمل، أفلا نجاهد؟ قال: لكن أفضل الجهاد حج مبرور
Sahih al-Bukhari 2784
, narrated by Ahmad and al-Bukhari . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
