Is it permissible for the association to invest the zakah given to it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 9056 )
Q1: Is it possible for the International Islamic Charitable Organization to invest the zakah funds that may be deposited in banks until they are spent, and whose investment will not affect the arrangement and execution of their spending in the zakah channels specified by the Shari'ah, provided that the investment is in liquid fields? This is because they can be obtained when needed and in well-studied and reliable investment fields, and we do not say guaranteed so that it is not tainted by prohibition or doubt. The organization is not a natural person or persons representing themselves, but rather a legal entity standing on its own, and the persons within it exert their effort and apply their ijtihad for what is in the interest of Islam and Muslims.
A: It is not permissible for the agent of the association to invest the zakah funds, and it is obligatory to spend them in their specified Shari'ah channels after verifying
their spending on those who are entitled to it; because the purpose of it is to meet the needs of the poor and pay off the debts of the indebted; and because investment may cause these benefits to be missed or delayed significantly for the entitled persons. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
