The Eclipse Prayer

The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 4667 )
Q1: We have read what the Al-Madinah newspaper published in its issue 5402 on 4/3/1402 AH, stating that there will be a total lunar eclipse on the coming Saturday, that it will begin at 8:30 PM, that the partial eclipse will end on Sunday 38 minutes after midnight, and that the moon will emerge from the Earth's penumbra at 1:37 AM, and this occurred as stated.
A1: The time of the lunar eclipse and solar eclipse can be known through the calculation of planetary movements, and it is also known thereby whether it is total or partial, and there is nothing strange about that; because it is not among the matters of the unseen for everyone, but it is unseen for those who do not know the science of calculating planetary movements, and it is not unseen for those who know that science; because they are able to know it through an ordinary cause, which is this science, and this does not contradict the fact that the eclipse is a sign from the signs of Allah the Exalted, by which He frightens His servants so that they may return to their Lord and be upright in His obedience, but it is not permissible to believe them or act upon their statements; because they may make mistakes, and the reliance is only on seeing the eclipse; due to the saying
of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): .
Q2: The meteorological observatories say: The expected weather during the next 24 hours is generally clear, or there will be clouds over most of the country, accompanied by thunderstorms, and rain may fall here or there, and the winds will be northern or southern or the opposite.. etc.
A2: Knowing the weather or predicting the blowing of winds or storms or predicting the formation of clouds or the falling of rain in a direction is based on knowing the cosmic laws of Allah, so a person who has experience with these laws through scientific theories or general ordinary experiences may have a suspicion rather than knowledge, so he predicts that and informs about it based on suspicion rather than knowledge. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

The sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse for the death of anyone or for his life, but Allah sends them to frighten His servants with them, so when you see that, pray and supplicate until it is removed from you
