Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth and fifth questions of the fatwa number ( 4476 )
Q 4: Whatis the ruling on one who followsMalikin his independent legal reasoning, and leaves the Qur'an and the hadith?
A 4: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. And after that : Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) is an imam among the imams in knowledge, and he is a human being who errs and hits the mark, and his words are taken from and rejected; so what of his words that agrees with the truth is accepted, and what does not agree with the truth is left, and if a person is able to take the rulings from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, it is not permissible for him to follow anyone, and if he is not able and something of the matters of his religion is difficult for him, then he asks the most trustworthy of the scholars in his view, and acts according to his answer, and Malik and others are the same in that.
