A man has an institution, and a period of time will pass for him in a few days, and he wants to celebrate it to display the works he has done

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man has an institution, and a period of time will pass for him in a few days, and he wants to celebrate it to display the works he has done. So what is your guidance to him regarding this? Does he do it or not? And why? And what is the ruling on congratulating him for it?

The Shaykh : I see that he should not do it, because I fear that he will make it a festival, so that whenever the year turns, he holds a celebration. Allah has not made a festival for this Ummah to celebrate in except al-Fitr and al-Adha, and Jumu'ah is the weekly festival with its own characteristics. But in the two festivals, al-Adha and al-Fitr, it is permissible to play and use the hand drum in ways that are not permissible in other times. So these are the three Islamic festivals, and it is not befitting for a person to adopt a festival other than them. However, there is nothing wrong with a person, when the year has passed for his business and it is going well, thanking Allah the Exalted and praising Him for it. In fact, this is among the things that are required. As for adopting a celebration or a festival or banquets, no. Yes.
