Exhortation with Weak Hadiths

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 6398 ):
Q6: There are many hadiths in the books of the Sunnah that have correct meanings and acceptable interpretations of verses, but they are weak. The question is: Is it permissible to mention them in lessons and sermons and to narrate them?
A6: It is prescribed that a Muslim should not mention in his sermons, exhortations, and lessons anything other than what is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In the noble verses and authentic hadiths, there is what is sufficient and enough, making it unnecessary to mention weak hadiths, and praise be to Allah for that. However, it is permissible according to most hadith scholars to mention a weak hadith if the Islamic legal interest requires it, using the form of caution, such as: “It is narrated and mentioned from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).” As for hadiths that the scholars have explicitly stated are fabricated, it is not permissible for a teacher, preacher, or anyone else to mention them except to clarify that they are false. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers upon our Prophet Muhammad, and his family and companions, and peace be upon them.
