The Manner of Descent

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1643 ):
Q2: A discussion took place between me and one of the intellectuals in their modern sciences, one of my university teachers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire , where he says: I said to him: Without a doubt, and I read the hadith to him, and he said: If that is established, it means that your Lord did not settle upon the Throne as it is in the Qur'an: [Taha 20:5]; because the last part of the night has not ceased to be on a spot of the earth among its spots, according to its rotation around itself by the power of Allah the Exalted, until the Hour stands, so did he stop and fall silent?
A2: There is no contradiction between His descent, may He be Exalted, to the lowest heaven in the last third of every night, despite the difference in time zones, and His rising above the Throne, Mighty and Majestic; for He, Glorified and Exalted is He, does not resemble His creation in any of His attributes. Thus, it is possible for Him to descend as He wills, in a manner befitting His majesty, in the last third of the night
with respect to each time zone, and this does not contradict His being above and His rising above the Throne; for in that, we do not know the manner of the descent or the manner of the rising, rather that is specific to Him, Glorified and Exalted is He, unlike the created being, for it is impossible for him to descend in one place and be present in another place at that same moment, as is known, except Allah, Mighty and Majestic, for He is capable of all things, and He is not measured by them or likened to them; due to His saying, Mighty and Majestic:[An-Nahl 16:74], and His saying, Glorified and Exalted is He: [Ash-Shuraa 42:11], and from what we have mentioned, it becomes clear to you that there is no contradiction between His descent and His rising above the Throne, and that the difference in time zones does not affect that. May Allah guide us and you to what brings Him pleasure, guide us in His religion, and make us see the truth, for He is the One who answers supplication. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q2: A discussion took place between me and one of the intellectuals in their modern sciences, one of my university teachers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire , where he says:
Indeed, your Lord descends to the lowest heaven in the last part of every night
إن ربكم ينزل إلى السماء الدنيا في آخر كل ليلةabove the Throne established.

So do not assert similarities to Allah
فَلا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّهِ الأَمْثَالَThere is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
