Fatwa number ( 8879 ):
Q: What is the ruling on reading from the book [Dala'il al-Khayrat] by the Imam Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli , which contains daily gatherings and recitations that include seeking nearness to Allah through the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asking him for intercession, such as: “O our beloved, O Muhammad, we seek nearness to your Lord through you, so intercede for us with the Great Master.” And also: “O Allah, we seek intercession with You through him, for he is the most prominent of intercessors with You. We swear by You through him, for he is the greatest of those by whose right one swears by You. And we seek nearness to You through him, for he is the closest of means to You, and the noblest of their origins.”
A: If the situation is as you described, namely that the recitations and gatherings in this book include seeking nearness to Allah through the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and seeking intercession through him with Allah the Exalted to fulfill one’s need, then it is not permissible for you to read from it; because Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely.قُلْ لِلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا
[Az-Zumar 39:44]

And He the Exalted said:
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلا بِإِذْنِهِ
[Al-Baqarah 2:255]
, and He said:
(43) Or have they taken other than Allah as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?" (44) Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirelyأَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاءَ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لاَ يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يَعْقِلُونَ (43) قُلْ لِلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا
[Az-Zumar 39:43-44]
, the verse. And holding fast to the Book of Allah the Exalted and reciting it, and to the authentic Prophetic dhikr, is sufficient for you instead of reading the recitations and gatherings in the book [Dala'il al-Khayrat] and its like, which are numerous. You will find them in the book [Riyad al-Salihin], and the book [Al-Adhkar al-Nawawiyyah], both by the Imam al-Nawawi , and the book [Al-Kalim al-Tayyib] by Ibn Taymiyyah , and [Al-Wabil al-Sayyib] by the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim , may Allah have mercy on them all, and other books of the people of the Sunnah. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
