If we want to call one of the brothers who follow Hasan al-Banna, they say to us: Your concern is with tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and beliefs, and the Companions were not like that.

The questioner : If you permit, O our Shaykh, we face a problem often, we Salafis in Egypt. If we want to call anyone from the Muslim Brotherhood who follow Hasan al-Banna, or anyone from these people, they say: Your concern is with tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and beliefs!

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner : And the Companions. The problem is that they say the Companions did not record, or did not document, tawhid (the oneness of Allah) even once!

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar! This is due to their ignorance. What do you have to do with them? Whoever is ignorant of something opposes it. What do you have to do with them? Call them to what is best, and we ask Allah for their guidance and success, and that is enough. Do not let people’s talk concern you.

The questioner : Do we not let our own talk concern us?

The Shaykh : Absolutely not. Because this group has been in their party for nearly sixty or seventy years and they have not benefited from anything, neither in religion nor in worldly affairs. Therefore, they hold a grudge against others who care about tawhid (the oneness of Allah), the Sunnah, and bid'ah (religious innovation), and the like. They have no Sunnah, no bid'ah (religious innovation), and no creed.
