Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) in *al-Nukat* stipulates in . .

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) in *al-Nukat* stipulates in this phrase that the chain of narration must be in the form of meeting, and he illustrates this with Hisham from al-Zuhri, saying that both are among the men of the Sahih, but his narration is criticized from al-Zuhri. But, Shaykh, the example seems to be restricted to the contrary opinion, because the statement is about the form of meeting, which may be understood from the statement.

The Shaykh : How is this last point?

The questioner : I say, as a restricted example, regarding one who is spoken about regarding his teacher.

The Shaykh : The example of Hisham from al-Zuhri is understood, but what is the statement I made after that?

The questioner : The statement is: because the Hafiz says "in the form of meeting," does this statement imply that it is stipulated that the narrator must have a narration in al-Bukhari from that specific teacher mentioned, so that it can be said to be according to the condition of al-Bukhari and Muslim?

The Shaykh : This is stipulated.

The questioner : Even if he is not spoken about regarding his teacher?

The Shaykh : Even if he is, as long as he does not have a narration in the Sahih from that specific teacher, yes.
But there is a precision here in that if it is established for us that he met him and he is free from being spoken about regarding that specific teacher, that is sufficient. However, if he was spoken about, like the example I mentioned earlier, then it is not permissible to say that it is according to the condition of the Shaykh, meaning according to the condition of al-Bukhari.
