Is it true that Sahih Muslim contains a few weak hadiths, and what is their number?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : "Sahih Muslim," meaning we hear that it contains a few weak hadiths. Is this true? What is their number?

The Shaykh : Meaning, do you think that "Sahih Muslim" is the Book of Allah, from which no falsehood comes from before it or from behind it?

The questioner : No, of course not.

The Shaykh : Of course not, so we agree.

The questioner : What is their number?

The Shaykh : I do not know this, because a project of this importance, which the Imam compiled over many years, is not something where it is easy today for someone like me or anyone else to devote special effort to extracting two, three, or a few more hadiths. For what purpose? To serve the entire book from beginning to end for the sake of these four or five hadiths? However, a researcher may encounter a hadith or two and conclude with the fact I mentioned earlier. It is perhaps best that you all know and do not doubt the saying of Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it
[Fussilat 41:42]
. This is a distinction for the Noble Qur'an that no book on earth shares with it, whether it is an exegesis, a hadith, a jurisprudence, a literature, or any other science. This is a principle that must be firmly established, and it should not cause confusion or disturbance in the heart of a Muslim if he hears that, by Allah, there are some weak hadiths in "Sahih Muslim," or even in "Sahih al-Bukhari." This statement aligns with the Qur'an's exclusive possession of that distinction. However, to affirm this, I remind you of a hadith found in "the two Sahihs" which is an error by the consensus of the scholars. It is the hadith of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Maymunah while he was in the state of ihram." This hadith is an error by one of the narrators, and identifying him is not our concern now. The proof of the error is that it came through several chains from Maymunah herself, who said: "He married me in a state of halal (permissibility)." Thus, the person directly involved is testifying to the opposite of what others testified regarding her. In addition to this, there is a hadith in "Sahih Muslim":
A pilgrim may not marry and give someone in marriage in the sacred state(while wearing ihram).
Sunan Abi Dawud 1841Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Therefore, we take the practical report attributed to the Messenger (peace be upon him) from the report of Maymunah herself, and we prefer it over the other report which stated that the Messenger married Maymunah while she was in the state of ihram, because taking the action that matches the statement is better than taking the action that contradicts the statement. This exists; therefore, we have no ability whatsoever to believe in the inerrancy of any book after the Noble Qur'an, absolutely. Then, in "Sahih Muslim" as well, take any copy and you will find the hadith in the Sahih that you all hear about, if you have not all memorized it:
There are seven whom Allah will shade in His shade on the day on which there is no shade except His shade
Muwatta Malik 51:14
. This hadith is known; it says in the characteristic before the last one:
And a man who gives charity with his left hand so that his right hand does not know what his left hand has spent
. This is how it is in "Sahih Muslim." This is called a reversed hadith among the hadith scholars. The hadith as you memorize it is:
And a man who gives charity with his right hand so that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent
. So the hadith was reversed for some of the narrators in "Sahih Muslim," and he narrated it as such, and the book was printed after being copied thousands of times, and it came to us with this error. This is part of the integrity of the hadith scholars and their preservation of the narration, without favoring the author or favoring a book named "Sahih Muslim." The research on this is lengthy, and this is sufficient. Sufficient.
The student : And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon His servant and Messenger Muhammad.

The Shaykh : Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no deity but You. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.
The student : May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
