Explanation of the hadith of Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him): (My pond is between Aden and Oman, its cups are the number of the stars, its water is whiter than snow

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The tenth hadith, which is also authentic, is his saying:
And from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
My pond is between Aden and Oman, its cups are the number of the stars, its water is whiter than snow, and sweeter than honey, and the people who drink from it most are the poor Muhajireen. We said: O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us? He said: They are disheveled in head, ragged in clothing, those who do not marry the well-off women, and the sadd are not opened for them, those who give what is due from them and are not given what is due to them.
It was narrated by al-Tabarani, and its narrators are narrators of authentic hadiths, and it is in al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah in a similar form.
The sadd here are the doors: this is how the author explained it, and that is the case.
In this hadith, there is another virtue for the poor Muhajireen, which is that they are the ones who drink from the pond more than any other people. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) describes his pond in this hadith with many attributes. First, he says: Its width is between Aden in Yemen and Oman, which is well known today. The pond’s distance is long and very long. It came in some hadiths that its corners are equal, which is a geometric indication that the pond is square. If it is square, then the distance in length and width is equal between Aden and Oman.
One of its attributes is that its cups are the number of the stars. The number of cups, the vessels from which those who come to the pond of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) drink, is the number of the stars in the sky. Do you know how many stars are in the sky? The scholars today are perplexed and say that the number of stars is in millions of millions.
and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills ولا يُحيطون بشيء من علمه إلا بما شاء
[Al-Baqarah 2:255]
So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) points to this to show people and bring to their minds that the number of cups in the Prophetic pond is something no human can count. And when he says:
The number of the stars in the sky عدد نجوم السماء
, people at that time did not know anything of the multitude of the stars in the sky except what they saw in the clear sky. So what about us today, when the scholars have discovered [them] by the means Allah created for them? We can now expand our understanding of this comparison.
