What is the degree of authenticity of the hadith: “Let one of you pray in the mosque nearest to him, and not follow the mosques”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: His EminenceThe Shaykh : What is the degree of authenticity of the hadith:
Let one of you pray in the mosque nearest to him, and not follow the mosques ليصلِّ أحدكم بالمسجد الذي يليه ، ولا يتتبَّع المساجد
; since you graded it as good in *Sahih al-Jami'* and I have heard you grade it as weak?

The Shaykh : What is in my mind is that the hadith is weak, but memory can fail, and the responsibility lies with the book, as he (peace be upon him) said:
Tie down knowledge with writing قيدوا العلم بالكتاب
. So if one finds a ruling in one of my books and does not find that I have spoken on it, he should stop when he sees it in the book.
Yes.
