What is the ruling on video recording?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He asks: What is the ruling on video recording? We request a brief answer so that we can present the remaining questions.

The Shaykh : We were also asked about this issue in some gatherings in some countries we passed through in the Kingdom. The summary is: video is the worst type of images; because image-making is forbidden in the Shari'ah for two causes:
The first is imitation, as mentioned in some authentic hadiths:
those who try to match the creation of Allah
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5356Sahih (Darussalam)
.
The second cause is that images and statues were the reason for the worship of idols before the Islamic community, as mentioned in Surat Nuh (peace be upon him); where our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa' or Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.
[Nuh 71:23]
. It has come in the books of tafsir that transmit interpretation by transmitted reports that these five were righteous servants of Allah. In a long story, we say: Satan inspired them to carve idols of these five in order to remind people of the heroism of these five, as is the case now—unfortunately—in some Islamic countries; where they erect statues of some leaders—so they claim!—in some squares of every town as a memorial to them. Then the days passed, and then, through the whispering of Satan, they began to worship them instead of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sent Noah to them and called them to the worship of Allah, but they refused. They advised one another,
And said, 'Never leave your gods
[Nuh 71:23]
to the end of the verse. So, as far as image-making is concerned, there is no difference between manual image-making, photography, and video; rather, video is more dangerous; because it is a stronger imitation of the creation of Allah. For example, the idol they used to carve was a static idol that did not move; an image on a wall or on a curtain does not move. Yet, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon Aisha and saw the curtains with images on them, he disapproved of it for her and said (peace and blessings be upon him):
The most severely punished people on the Day of Resurrection are these image-makers who imitate the creation of Allah.
. So this image is static, as we said; so how would it be if the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw these moving images, where it is imagined to be a real person like this person whom Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) created? Therefore, video is more forbidden than all the images that existed before they invented this device. And the Messenger (peace be upon him), as you know, cursed every image-maker; where he said:
May Allah curse the makers of pictures.
, and he said:
Everyone who makes representations of things will go to hell
Mishkat al-Masabih 4498
, and he said:
Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture
Sahih Muslim 2106e
.
This is a brief statement in answering this question.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
