The Shaykh : As for these chants adopted by some groups, they truly contain the contradiction mentioned in the previous example. This was not the case in all the centuries. I do not mean only the righteous Salaf, who are our proof and our model, but even the centuries that came after them did not have such chants. Rather, we imitated the Westerners, the disbelievers, and the polytheists in this, who have no revealed methodology from Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). They are in innovation, indeed in misguidance, every day. So Muslims should follow only what the righteous Salaf were upon and not add anything to it.
