The Eighth Invalidator of the Fast: The Emergence of Menstrual and Post-Natal Blood, with Evidence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the eighth, it is the emergence of menstrual and post-natal blood. The evidence is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the woman:
Isn't it true that a woman does not pray and does not fast on menstruating? أليس إذا حاضت لم تصل ولم تصم
Sahih al-Bukhari 1951
Thus, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made it clear that menstruation is incompatible with fasting. And so it is; if it is incompatible with it, then if it occurs while the woman is fasting, her fast becomes invalid. Here is an issue in which many women break their fast: some women believe that if menstrual blood emerges after the sun has set and before the Maghrib prayer, the fast becomes invalid. No, if it is a small amount, that is fine. I mean, many women today believe that if menstrual blood emerges after the sun has set and before the Maghrib prayer, the fast for that day becomes invalid. Is this correct or not? It is not correct. Why? Because the day ended without an invalidator. In fact, some of them exaggerate and say that if a woman sees her menstruation before the 'Isha' prayer, her fast becomes invalid, and this is not correct. If the sun has set and the menstrual blood has not emerged, even if the woman feels it moving, her fast is valid. Even if the blood emerges a moment after sunset, did you understand, everyone? Now, these are eight invalidators, and you have known their evidence. Anything other than these does not invalidate the fast.
