The definition of zakah and that it is a form of charity.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And zakah, my brothers, is a form of charity, as Allah the Exalted said:
Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives إنما الصدقات للفقراء والمساكين والعاملين عليها والمؤلفة قلوبهم وفي الرقاب
[At-Tawbah 9:60]
So zakah is among the charities, because Allah says:
Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together إنما الصدقات للفقراء والمساكين والعاملين عليها والمؤلفة قلوبهم
[At-Tawbah 9:60]
And if zakah is among the charities, then every text that encourages charity, incites desire for it, and explains its virtue includes zakah, a fortiori.
