We had spoken about Shaykh Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut, and you told me that incidents occurred with you, and you will relate them to me. I wish the time for that had come?

Al-Hawani: All right; O our Shaykh, in a previous gathering we mentioned something aboutThe Shaykh : "Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut," and you told me, meaning: Incidents occurred to me withThe Shaykh : [him], and I will relate them to you in another occasion. I wish the time for fulfilling that had come?

The Shaykh: I told you, I hinted to you that if you return to the correction mentioned at the end of "Sharh al-'Aqidah al-Tahawiyyah," there is a note that I said in such-and-such a hadith: "I did not find it," and this was an oversight on my part; because I had traced the hadith in "al-Mishkat," attributed it to al-Tirmidhi, and clarified that it is weak. This is the text that was printed in "Takhrij al-Tahawiyyah," which he supervised the proofreading of, so he did not point out this oversight until after the book was printed. I was at the university at the time, so he sent me a noteThe Shaykh : that he had prepared for "Zuhayr," asking us to write a response so that we could correct it at the end of the book. I wrote the response correcting what was mentioned, and I emphasized that I myself had traced the hadith in "al-Mishkat," which was printed long before the "Aqidah." There are also many incidents that indicate that the man was not impartial in his work of proofreading the books that "Zuhayr" publishes and for which he is responsible for proofreading the proofs. My memory is now distant regarding some other incidents that would be good to mention as examples, but this example is truly recorded and cannot be erased with time.
