Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So pray to your Lord and sacrifice)]

And when He mentioned His favor upon him with this abundant good, He said:
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ
[Al-Kawthar:2] as gratitude to Allah for this great blessing, that you should pray and sacrifice for Allah. The intended meaning of prayer here is all prayers, and the first to be included is the prayer associated with the sacrifice, which is the prayer of 'Id al-Adha.But the verse is comprehensive and general: ((So pray to your Lord)) refers to the obligatory prayers, the voluntary prayers, the prayer of the festival, and the Friday prayer.
and sacrificeوَانْحَرْ
meaning: draw near to Him through the sacrifice. The term "sacrifice" (nahr) is specific to camels, while "slaughter" (dhabh) is for cattle and sheep. However, "sacrifice" was mentioned because camels are more beneficial than others for the poor. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during his Hajj offered one hundred camels as a gift, and he sacrificed sixty-three of them with his own hand. He gave the rest to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, who sacrificed them. He gave in charity all their parts except for a small piece of meat from each she-camel, which he took and put in a pot to cook. He ate of its meat and drank of its broth, and he ordered that even their skins be given in charity, may peace and blessings be upon him. The command is for him and for the Ummah. Therefore, we must be sincere in our prayer for Allah and sincere in our sacrifice for Allah, as our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded.
