Following the Imam

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If the ma'mum finds the imam in prostration, should he go directly into prostration, or should he sit, then say the takbir and prostrate with the imam?
If the ma'mum finds the imam in a state of standing, bowing, prostrating, or sitting, let him do as the imam does.As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family said: (Pray what you catch of it) and he said: (The imam is appointed to be followed) and it was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) with a chain containing weakness: [If one of you comes to the prayer and the imam is in a certain state, let him do as the imam does].

The questioner: But the question, O Shaykh: Does he prostrate with the takbir of ihram, or does he say the takbir for prostration? The Shaykh: No.
He says the takbir of ihram while standing, then when he prostrates, he prostrates without saying the takbir.
