Ruling on applying the rulings for a traveler to one who stays outside his city for two weeks for work

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! I am from the noble city of Makkah, married in Makkah, and residing in Makkah, but my work is outside Makkah in the neighboring region of al-Bajadiyyah. So, I stay at work for fourteen days and go to Makkah for seven days. Is my presence at work, while I am married in Makkah and reside there, and I go to Makkah after fourteen days, considered travel? Because at work, Shaykh! some of the brothers ask me to lead the Friday prayer, and I do not know how the path is?The Shaykh: Are you comfortable in your residence at this job and do you want to stay permanently, or are you waiting for the opportunity to return to Makkah? The questioner: I hope, if Allah wills, to return to Makkah at the earliest opportunity.

The Shaykh: Then you are a traveler, and what is permissible for travelers is permissible for you, such as shortening the prayer and wiping over leather socks for three days, and so on. However, if you pray behind an imam who completes the prayer, you must complete it, and you must pray with the congregation. But if you are asked to lead the Friday prayer and you are in a place where the Friday prayer is held, meaning: you are not outside the town, then lead the Friday prayer as an imam, even if you are not from the people of the town,This is the stronger and correct opinion: that it is not a condition for leading the Friday prayer that the person be a resident.
