The Danger of Speaking About Rulers, Scholars, Preachers, and Groups

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What is your opinion regarding many of the young people who, when they gather in a council, spend most of their time speaking about the rulers of the Muslims, or the preachers, or the scholars, or the Islamic groups, and they consider this to be in the category of advice, or warning against errors, or the like?
I see that these people have wasted their time without benefit, and they have occupied themselves with what is not beneficial, rather it is harmful, especially speaking about those who are people of knowledge and the princes, because of the great harm that this causes to the Ummah; because speaking about the scholars in backbiting diminishes their status in the hearts of people, and when the status of the scholars is diminished in the hearts of people, their acceptance of what these scholars say becomes weak, and thereby the Shari'ah is disrupted,And as for the princes, it is also said: If they speak about them with backbiting, cursing, insulting, mentioning their faults, and ignoring their virtues; then it leads to people hating them, and not obeying their command, and to chaos and division within the Ummah, and the sin upon these people if any of that occurs,Then we say to these people: Does your speech lead to reform? The answer will be: No, it does not lead to reform, rather it increases evil.
