The ruling on correcting a reciter who makes mistakes in his recitation
If a person is sitting in the mosque and there is a reciter of the Qur'an to his right or left, reciting in a loud voice, or if this is outside the mosque, and this reciter makes many mistakes in the verses, is it obligatory for him to correct him? And if he is sinful for not correcting him, should he change his place so that he does not hear his recitation?
This is a problem that occurs frequently in reality,So we say first: the reciter is forbidden from raising his voice when there are people praying around him; because it disturbs them, and because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to his Companions while they were reciting loudly and he forbade them,And he said: (Do not harm one another in your recitation) This is regarding the reciter.
As for the listener, if the one reciting makes a mistake that changes the meaning, it is obligatory for him to correct him. If the mistake does not change the meaning, it is not obligatory for him to correct him.For example, if he said: "Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate" This does not change the meaning. But if he changes the meaning, as if he said: "The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor" or if he said: "Guide us to the straight path" you must correct him; because you are hearing the Qur'an being distorted, so you must correct it.
