Exegesis of Verses from Surat al-Dhariyat

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them in excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is the thirty-ninth meeting of the weekly gatherings that take place every Thursday, and this Thursday is the nineteenth of the month of Jumada al-Thani in the year 1417 AH.
We begin this meeting, as is customary, with the exegesis of the Noble Qur'an. We have reached the end of Surat Qaf, and we now begin, with the help and guidance of Allah, with Surat al-Dhariyat.

Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
(1) By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing (2) And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْواً * فَالْحَامِلاتِ وِقْراً
[al-Dhariyat:1-2] to the end.

Know first: The Basmala is a verse of the Book of Allah; however, it is not counted as part of the surah before it, nor as part of the surah after it.And therefore we say: The first verse of al-Fatihah is:
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds -الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
[al-Fatihah:1], as stated explicitly in the Qudsi hadith narrated by Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah said: "I divided the prayer between Me and My servant into two halves,When he says: ((Praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds)) [al-Fatihah:1], Allah said: My servant praised Me,And when he said: ((The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful)) [al-Fatihah:2], He said: My servant praised Me,And when he said: ((Master of the Day of Judgment)) [al-Fatihah:3], He said: My servant glorified Me,And when he said: ((You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help)) [al-Fatihah:4], He said: This is between Me and My servant,When he says: ((Guide us to the straight path)) [al-Fatihah:5], He said: This is for My servant, and for My servant is what he asks for).
Based on this, if one recites al-Fatihah without reciting the Basmala, his prayer is valid; because the Basmala is not a verse of al-Fatihah. You will find in the mushaf that it is counted among its verses, so it is number (1); but this is based on a weak opinion,And the correct view is that its verses are seven:
(2) [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - (3) The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, (4) Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. (5) It is You we worship and You we ask for help. (6) Guide us to the straight path - (7) The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
[al-Fatihah:1-7] seven verses.

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
(1) By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing (2) And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] (3) And those [ships] sailing with ease (4) And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter,وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْواً * فَالْحَامِلاتِ وِقْراً * فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْراً * فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْراً
[al-Dhariyat:1-4]: Allah the Exalted swore by these created things; because they indicate His greatness, Blessed and Exalted is He, and because of the benefits and utilities contained in them.
