Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Their eyes will be downcast as they come out of the graves as if they were scattered locusts)
His statement: (Their eyes will be downcast) means: that their eyes will be humble and submissive,As Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Surat al-Shura: 45] They are now arrogant, holding their heads high, thinking that people are beneath them and that they are above people, but a day will come when it will be the opposite.
[Surat al-Qamar: 7] (The graves) are the tombs, and (as if they were scattered locusts) [refers to] locusts spread across the earth that do not know where they are heading; they have no established path by which they know how to end, but they are scattered.
