Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (So he felt fear from them. They said: Do not fear)

We start from his saying:
And he felt from them apprehensionفَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً
[Surat al-Dhariyat: 28] Meaning: He sensed fear in his heart regarding them. The reason for that fear was that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought them food, they did not eat from it
And he felt from them apprehensionفَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:28]
because it is customary for a guest to eat from what the host serves him, but these angels did not eat; because the angels are deaf, meaning they do not have stomachs, as has been transmitted from the Salaf. Therefore, they do not need to eat or drink.
And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not,"فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا لا تَخَفْ
[Surat al-Dhariyat: 28] They reassured him, saying: Do not fear. They saw on his face signs of disapproval and fear. Every person knows that, and knows whether he is in joy, whether he is in ease, whether he is afraid, or whether he is reassured, because this is a matter known by innate disposition and does not require great insight.

Allah the Exalted said:
and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلامٍ عَلِيمٍ
[Surat al-Dhariyat: 28] (The good news) is the announcement of what brings joy,Meaning: They informed him of what brings him joy, which is the knowledgeable boy. Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) had reached extreme old age before a child was born to him, neither he nor his wife. They gave him good news of this boy and gave him good news that he would be knowledgeable,Meaning: He would be a caller; because Allah the Exalted made him one of the prophets, and the prophets are the most knowledgeable of creation regarding Allah Mighty and Majestic, His names and attributes, His rulings, and His actions. This knowledgeable boy is not the same as the gentle boy; because in the Qur'an, Ibrahim was given good news of a knowledgeable boy in two verses of the Book of Allah, and good news of a gentle boy in one verse, and they are two boys. As for the gentle boy, he is Isma'il, the father of the Arabs, and as for the knowledgeable boy, he is Ishaq, the father of the Children of Israel. Therefore, you will find their stories are different.

And whoever said: has strayed far from the truth : If the gentle boy is the knowledgeable boy, rather, it is an explicit text in Surat al-Saffat that they are two different boys; because when Allah the Exalted mentioned the story of the sacrificed one in Surat al-Saffat, He said after it:
And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.وَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِإِسْحَاقَ نَبِيّاً مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
[Surat al-Saffat: 112] How could He give good news of the one He had commanded to be sacrificed, who was with him and had reached the age of labor with him? All of this indicates that the statement that the gentle boy is not the knowledgeable boy is incorrect. They gave him good news of a knowledgeable boy, and this is good news, as you see,Good news that included two things, or if you wish, say: Three things: First: that a child will come to him who will grow up to be a boy.

Second: That this child is male, due to the word: boy.

Third: That he is knowledgeable, meaning possessing knowledge. All of these pieces of good news are great, and each one is sufficient to be good news.
