Advice for University Graduates

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What is your advice for those who are on the verge of graduating from university?

My advice to them: First: They should thank Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for having brought them to this level.

Second: They should strive to spread the knowledge that Allah has inspired in them on every occasion.

Third: They should be a model in their morals and dealings with people, because some students of knowledge today are more rude than the Bedouins; they have no friendliness, no greeting, and no humility. Rather, some people, the more knowledge they gain, the more arrogant they become, may Allah protect us from that. The true scholar is the one who, the more knowledge he gains, the more humble he becomes. Then there is no blame on them if they apply for jobs, and it is not said: that this is a form of the blameworthy asking, because every person wants to work to benefit people. If they apply, there is no blame, especially if they intend by it to occupy a position through which they benefit the servants of Allah.
