Explaining the effect of a righteous land on its inhabitants and the effect of a corrupt land on its inhabitants.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In any case, this issue is one in which there is detail from several aspects, including migration from lands of disbelief to lands of Islam, and migration from a righteous land to a more righteous land, and migration from a corrupt land to a righteous land. These are all ranks that the people of knowledge know. We have a hadith in "Sahih al-Bukhari" from the Messenger (peace be upon him) saying:
There was among those before you a man who killed ninety-nine souls without right, so he wanted to repent, so he asked about the most knowledgeable person on earth, so he was directed to a monk كان فيمَن قبلكم رجلٌ قتل تسعة وتسعين نفسًا بغير حقٍّ ، فأراد أن يتوبَ ، فسأل عن أعلم أهل الأرض ، فدُلَّ على راهب
,
he was directed to a monk دُلَّ على راهب
meaning a worshipper who is not a scholar. Look at what the result was for him. He said to him, "I am a criminal, a sinner, who killed ninety-nine souls without right. Do I have any repentance?" He said to him, "Woe to you! You killed ninety-nine souls and you want repentance? You have no repentance." He killed him to complete the number to one hundred. But the man was sincere and wanted to repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But who would rescue him? Who would save him? He kept indicating his sincerity, keeping on asking about the most knowledgeable person on earth. Naturally, the one who knows them. So his luck was good this time; he was directed to a scholar. He went to him and said, "I killed one hundred souls without right. Do I have any repentance?" He said, "Who can stand between you and repentance? You have repentance, but you are in a land of evil, a land full of scoundrels, evildoers, and sinners, and so on. So leave it for such-and-such a town whose people are righteous." He set out on the road, and death, his appointed term, came to him. The angels of mercy and the angels of punishment disputed over him, each claiming, "This one belongs to us." The angels of punishment said, "This one killed one hundred souls." The angels of mercy said, "Yes, but this one left repenting to his Lord." In any case, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sent to them an angel and judged between them. He said to them, "Measure the distance between him and each of the two towns. To whichever he was closer, assign him to its people." They measured and found him closer to the town whose people were righteous, and the angels of mercy took charge of him. The point is, Abu Shaker, the spiritual and moral aspects are exactly like the material aspects. If a land is infected, a person should not enter it; rather, if he is in it, he should move to a healthy land. The hospitals and health clinics did not arise except from this medical observation. This is exactly like the spiritual and moral aspects. Yes, the human being.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah.

The questioner : How are you, Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, I am well.

The questioner : I am speaking to you from Makkah, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.

The questioner : A hadith is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which he said:
The first to enter Paradise are the emigrants, so they come to the gate of Paradise, so it is said to them: Who are you? So they say: We are the emigrants أوَّل من يدخل الجنة المهاجرون ، فيأتون عند باب الجنة ، فيُقال لهم : مَن أنتم ؟ فيقولون : نحن المهاجرون
, has this hadith passed you?

The Shaykh : As for whether it has passed me, yes, but I do not think your question is limited to this. Perhaps you want to know if it is authentic or weak. Right now, I am not remembering its authenticity or weakness. If that matters to you, call me tomorrow, if Allah wills.

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And may Allah protect you, if Allah wills.

The questioner : May Allah honor you.

The Shaykh : Welcome.
