The Shaykh’s reminder on the obligation of greeting the mosque and using a sutrah in prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I have a reminder for you regarding something; people are heedless of many legal issues.
One of them is: the one who enters the mosque, just as we entered, sits down without praying the greeting of the mosque, whereas it is authentic from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
If anyone of you enters a Mosque, he should not sit until he has offered a tworak` at prayer. إذا دخل أحدكم المسجد فلا يجلس حتى يصلي ركعتين
Sahih al-Bukhari 1167
This is one point.
The second point: he enters the mosque and prays in whatever place is convenient for him to pray, and this is heedlessness of the hadiths.
The summary of these hadiths is that every person who wants to pray must pray facing a sutrah. So, for example, I prayed here; this is my sutrah. Our brother prayed there between the wood; that wall is his sutrah. This is his sutrah. You, for example, prayed here; where is your sutrah? There is none. And the reason? People are heedless; there is no one to remind them, as we said there. So I am reminding them, and the reminder benefits the believers. There are two hadiths from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
One of them: he said:
When one of you prays facing a sutra * he should keep close to it and not let the devil interrupt his prayer. إذا صلى أحدكم فليصلِ إلى سترة لا يقطع الشيطان عليه صلاته
Mishkat al-Masabih 782
.
The second hadith:
If one of you prays, let him come close to his sutrah. إذا صلى أحدكم فليدنو من سترته
Why did you not come closer? May Allah guide you.
If one of you prays, let him come close to his sutrah. إذا صلى أحدكم فليدنو من سترته
meaning: do not distance yourself from it. Here a question arises: how close must one be to the sutrah? There is a hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he prayed, would have between the place of his prostration and the sutrah the space of a sheep’s passage? Meaning: one and a half shibr, or two shibr at most. So this sutrah, for example, for the one whose head is here, does he also ram his head into the sutrah? Meaning: he sticks his head to the sutrah. Rather, he leaves between his head and the sutrah the space of a sheep’s passage. This is what I wanted to remind you of:
First: when a person enters the mosque, he must not sit in the mosque until he has prayed two rak'ahs.
Second: he must pray facing a sutrah, the wall of the mosque, a pillar of the mosque... and so on.
One of the attendees: For example: you found a person in this congregation... and you found the first row full of worshippers, and you came behind him.

The Shaykh : Are you talking about the congregational prayer??

The questioner : The congregational prayer and other than the congregational prayer...

The Shaykh : Your sutrah is the first row.
