The Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the eclipse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the eclipse has been clarified to us. What is your advice for people in other countries, those who beat drums and slaughter animals when an eclipse occurs, calling this a miracle from Allah and distributing it to the people? This is the belief of many of them, unfortunately, in Muslim countries, and this tape will reach them, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : I say: My advice to these people, starting with the scholars of the country: it is obligatory for them to clarify to the general public what Allah has entrusted them with, namely that the cause of the eclipse prayer is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) intends to frighten the servants, and that it is prayed in the manner reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and that these superstitions and absurdities have no basis. How can people go out beating drums and dancing in the markets when Allah (Mighty and Majestic) made it a means of frightening them? So the first obligation is upon the scholars. As for the general public, it is obligatory for them to refrain from these things and turn to the mosques to perform the eclipse prayer as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) performed it. Yes.
