The questioner : The listener Muhammad Hamud al-Yamani. We reviewed some of his questions in a previous session, and this question remains for him. He says: A man left behind a son and a group of daughters.

The Shaykh : A son?

The questioner : Yes, and a group of daughters. The son has been absent for thirty years, and it is unknown whether he is alive or dead. How is the estate divided in such a case? Does this absent son receive any share of the estate? We ask for your guidance?

The Shaykh : The answer to this question lies with the court.

The questioner : Very well.

The Shaykh : Because it is the court that assesses the actual situation and examines what can be examined regarding the division of the inheritance among the heirs. Yes, that is correct.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah magnify your reward for what you have clarified for us and for the honorable brothers among the listeners.
Our noble brothers, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, professor at the College of Sharia in Qassim and preacher and imam of the Grand Mosque in Unaizah, answered your questions and inquiries. May Allah reward him for his effort.
