The Shaykh’s remarks on those who refuse to be called Salafi

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : I mean, Shaykh, there is currently a dilution of the people of da'wah, especially after this fitnah. There are those who do not see the use of the term Salafi.

The Shaykh : We know this.
The student : And among them are great callers to Allah. We do not want to mention their names, but I mention your discussion with them.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : And I fear this is a trick of the Saruriyyah.

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed. I discussed this matter with Muhammad Sarur by phone. He promised me and then broke his promise. I told him, "Do not use the term Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah, because in the era of the early Imams it had a correct meaning. Then, over time, this title was restricted to the Maturidiyyah and the Asha'irah. Their call is not a Salafi call, but rather a background. The reason some of those affiliated with the Salafi call in creed returned to using this term is their influence by the methods of the Ikhwan, which aim to gather and assemble people. Then they claimed to take it as a means to educate them, but there is no education and nothing else."
The student : Gather them, then jurisprudence.

The Shaykh: Yes.
