Do you bear the errors of the Salafis in other countries, such as their disparaging of taqlid (following a scholar without knowing his evidence) while they themselves follow Al-Albani, and likewise their declaring other da'wah workers to be sinners?

The questioner : One of the reasons that causes some people to look at you in a certain way is the presence of Salafis in most Arab countries.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : I don't know if I am mistaken or not; you are calling to a da'wah, and everyone who believes in this da'wah is with you and you are with them, from whatever side they come. As for bearing this burden, I do not think you say or hold this opinion. Some of the Salafi brothers have turned things into a partisan grouping, and I truly say this, and I am sincere in it, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : There is no doubt, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh : They have come to look at some of the brothers, whom I know have a correct and sound creed, from the perspective of the partisan group they gather around, and perhaps errors have come from them that do not serve the Salafi da'wah! That is one point.
The second point: some of them, as you know, and this is historically true as well, I think you know it, some of them tied themselves to certain regimes in writing, work, speech, or the like. Most of them call for not following scholars without evidence, but in reality he follows, saying,The Shaykh : "Nasser said this, is the narration authentic or not authentic? He made a mistake."The Shaykh : "Nasser was right, that's it, the matter is over!!" This is the one who callsThe Shaykh : Nasser to reconsider it.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : So I think my question is clear, meaning, consequently, do you bear the errors of the Salafis in other countries?

The Shaykh : The truth is, to be clear with each other, we must give some examples of the errors referred to; because what you are raising is a self-evident matter. Our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says:
(36) Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses (37) And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - (38) That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another (39) And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives
[An-Najm 53:36-39]
, so from the principles of the Shari'ah, no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another. So when you ask me, do you bear the errors of others? The nature of the matter is that the answer is: No; because this is the text of the Noble Qur'an. But it is possible—and I say this with complete frankness, and I do not say it with humility, because this is the obligatory duty—that the error they are in might be one I am with them in; meaning, it is from my opinion. So, in order for mutual advice to be completed and we verify upon ourselves what the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do when they parted, they would recite:
(1) By time, (2) Indeed, mankind is in loss, (3) Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
[Al-'Asr 103:1-3]
; so I see that completing the mutual advice in truth requires us to bring some examples of those errors; so that I may benefit, and perhaps you may benefit. I may benefit by realizing I have fallen into the same error, so you alert me, and may Allah reward you with good. And perhaps this type of what some call an error is actually the exact truth, so we clarify what we have, and perhaps you and others may benefit. Therefore, as an answer to a general question, I give a self-evident answer: no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another. And I think it is wise for me to preempt your answer to my question; because the examples...
