The danger of dividing Islam into fundamentals and branches, and into beliefs and rulings

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... This division of Islam into fundamentals and branches, into beliefs and into rulings, the outcome of this matter is that, despite it being a temporary conventional matter, it leads to belittling the disagreement in what is called rulings and branches, and focusing only on the disagreement when it occurs in the fundamentals. They explicitly state that there is no disagreement in the fundamentals. So the meaning of this division is to convince Muslims of this bad reality of the existing disagreement among Muslims, because either it is in the fundamentals, and there is no disagreement in that according to their claim, or it is in the branches, and the disagreement in the branches is, as they say in the hadith that has no basis,
The disagreement of my ummah is mercy
. This is one of the effects of this division, which reality testifies to, that all Islamic groups do not at all revolve around the reform that the prophets commanded, where each of them used to say
I only intend reform as much as I am able
[Hud 11:88]
. Now there is no reform, neither in the beliefs nor in the branches which are the rulings. Why? Do you know why? Because the disagreement in the fundamentals is lifted in their view, meaning it has no reality, and that Muslims are agreed in belief. As for the disagreement in the branches, the matter is easy in it, rather it is a mercy. And this is contrary to the previous verse where He the Exalted said
but they will not cease to differ. (119) Except whom your Lord has given mercy
[Hud 11:118-119]
. How can it be a mercy? How can disagreement be a mercy? And this is contrary to the explicit verse. How, when our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, you have heard in the previous verse
and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (32) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.
[Ar-Rum 30:31-32]
, then He forbids disagreement, saying, Mighty and Majestic is He
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
