The hadith of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding his statement, “...And is there any good after this evil?”
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, the hadith of Hudhayfah, Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman: We were in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance and evil, so Allah brought this good. Is there any evil after this good? He said: Then he said, “And is there any good after this evil?” He said: He said, “And what is its smoke?” He said: O Shaykh, what is your opinion of this description of the smoke as calling to plays, songs, and imitating Western clothing?
The Shaykh : Without a doubt, this is a double smoke, because it entered upon the Muslims in the later eras. And what I understand by the smoke here is falling short in applying some of the rulings of the Islamic sacred law. But it is even more so, and more so, that it is a smoke when they innovate many religious innovations and draw near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with them. The most severe this religious innovation becomes in misguidance is when it takes the place of reciting the Noble Qur'an. This is as it was in the past among the Sufis, where they would sing their Sufi songs and be content with them instead of singing with the Qur'an. This will cause history to repeat itself, and the youth will turn away from reciting the Qur'an and singing with it, to singing the songs they call religious or Islamic songs.
