Continuation of the explanation of the hadith of Mu'adh, and his saying: (Count yourself among the dead), and his saying: (Remember Allah at every stone and every tree).

The Shaykh : This is an admonition from the admonitions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to his companion Mu'adh ibn Jabal. Among what he said was: . A similar expression preceded this in the hadith of Ibn 'Umar: , or as he said. Then he added in the hadith of Mu'adh: Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34:98. The meaning of this is the servant's continuity in the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). This is clear at every stone and at every tree. This means that a person should not be heedless of the remembrance of his Lord, first of all. This means, first of all, that a person should not be heedless of the remembrance of his Lord (Mighty and Majestic) in all his states; whether he is sitting or setting out to walk. The other thing is that the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) commanded in the Sunnah—and this hadith is among them—is that you remember Allah at every stone and every tree. The meaning of this is that the servant's remembrance of his Lord does not require ceremonies, rituals, named gatherings and circles of dhikr, or the like of what has been innovated in Islam. Because he tells you: Remember Allah at every stone and tree. Does this mean that you should hold a gathering of dhikr and send blessings upon the Messenger at every stone and tree? No. It means that you should not restrict yourself to a specific sitting, even if you face the qiblah. It may appear to some people that the remembrance of Allah is like prayer, and that we must adopt the etiquettes, or even the obligations, that one who wants to pray performs. The answer is: No. No condition for dhikr has come in the Sunnah, let alone the Qur'an. What condition for dhikr? How, when our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) describes a type of His chosen, excellent servants by saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:191]?!
So if you sit in a sitting that gives your body rest, and you remember Allah in this state, there is absolutely no harm upon you in the Shari'ah. Even if such a thing does not please some of those who approve of rulings in the religion without permission from the Lord of the Worlds:[Ash-Shuraa 42:21]. Allah (Mighty and Majestic) describes, as I said, the elite of His chosen, excellent servants, not the general people: [Ali 'Imran 3:191]; meaning: they remember Allah when they are standing, they remember Allah when they are sitting, and they remember Allah when they are lying down. So our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) does not obligate us to adhere to one of these three attributes, but rather as it is easy for you. And it is as if this hadith, or this portion of this hadith, is excerpted from this verse.
Count yourself among the dead
Count yourself among the people of the graves
And remember Allah at every stone and at every tree
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides
So if you sit in a sitting that gives your body rest, and you remember Allah in this state, there is absolutely no harm upon you in the Shari'ah. Even if such a thing does not please some of those who approve of rulings in the religion without permission from the Lord of the Worlds:
Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented?
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides
