A man partners with another with the same capital, one with capital only and the other with capital and work; does he take a share of the profits and a monthly salary?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The question, O Shaykh, is regarding a man who partners with another with the same capital, for example, one thousand dinars for one thousand dinars. It was agreed that one of the partners would undertake the work, while the other would participate with capital only. Does the other partner, who is dedicated to this work, take a share of the profits and receive a monthly salary?

The Shaykh : It is according to what they agreed upon. It is well known that some scholars do not permit a partner to take a wage for his work, but I do not find, to my knowledge, any prohibition against it, provided that it is agreed upon between them, and he does not impose himself on his partner by saying, "I will get so much." If they agree on that, then believers are bound by their conditions. Yes.

The questioner : In the case of a loss, does the owner of the capital ask the one who worked with his effort to compensate him with a portion of the money, since the entire loss falls on the one who paid the capital?

The Shaykh : Both of them are owners of capital. But if a loss occurs that affects the owner of the capital and the effort, what is lost of his money is lost, and his effort is lost with it. As for demanding something from him, he has no right to do so.
