What is the ruling on a wife wearing trousers to her husband at home?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a woman to wear, for example, trousers in her home for her husband?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that wearing trousers between a husband and wife is, by reason of both Shari'ah and taste, more acceptable than being naked. But what is the ruling on a woman being naked before her husband? Is it permissible or not? Of course, it is permissible, a fortiori. But when this question is posed, and has been posed repeatedly, does it represent a realistic or a hypothetical situation? In other words, does this question mean: is it permissible for the wife to wear trousers for her husband when there is no one else in the house but the two of them? We know the answer: it is permissible. But is that the reality? There may be children, there may be mahrams, and so on. Therefore, the answer is limited to the case where no one is present other than the two spouses. May Allah allow them to live together as He created me. But if there are people present, even if they are children or offspring, it is not permissible, because they will become accustomed to a life that is not an Islamic life.

The questioner : Would it not be said, O Shaykh, that here...

The questioner : Regarding the issue of the trousers, perhaps some people prefer this type of clothing because they see girls in the streets, for example, imitating either men or disbelieving women, so it has an effect on their psyche. He wants to do so from this angle. Does this apply to all types of trousers, or does this characteristic apply, meaning it is permissible in that case as well?

The Shaykh : Yes, if you recall the previous detail, the question is not applicable. Because why do people, the general public, like these trousers? It is because of the covering of the 'awrah. If the covered 'awrah is not an 'awrah, what harm is there in this? Do you understand?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Okay, may Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : Yes, but as for the issue of imitation?

The Shaykh : It is not applicable except in front of people, and we assumed it is between two spouses only, clear.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Well, what about the others.
