The Shaykh : ... So, when we consider this detail regarding the ruling on one who commits disbelief or utters disbelief, and that he is not held accountable, we find in the hadith of the fly some exaggeration and overstatement. This second man saw that his companion was killed because he did not offer a fly to their idol. When they presented that offer to him, he offered what they asked of him and entered the Fire. If we want to clarify the meaning of this hadith, and not its chain, because we know that it was first reported as mawquf (stopping at a Companion) and it is not necessary for it to have the ruling of a marfu' (traced to the Prophet) report, but if we want to clarify the meaning of this hadith, and this is a necessary matter, and this is what I have not found explained in some of the commentaries that explained the book of Tawhid by Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him), it must be qualified that if this hadith is authentic as marfu' to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then in this case it must be understood that the second man entered the Fire by offering the fly willingly, not unwillingly, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith إلا من أكره وقلبه مطمئن بالإيمان
[An-Nahl 16:106]
, and this is the answer to what you asked regarding the book of Tawhid by Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him).
