Request for the Shaykh to advise the people of hadith in Afghanistan. Then the Shaykh spoke about kissing the hand.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Professor Jamal, do you have something, or the conversation with you will not end, may Allah will it.

The questioner : The conversation with you, Professor, does not end, may Allah reward you. It is just an inquiry, or if Allah writes for you the honor of going to that place—and it is easy for whom Allah makes it easy, Mighty and Majestic—what would you advise regarding the directions of the Afghan people of hadith?

The Shaykh : My advice is that they combine da'wah (calling others to Islam) and wisdom. I do not know if there is anything else to draw our attention to. May Allah reward you with good. Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, Professor.
Abu Layla : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Kissing the hand is for two reasons. First, to protect my soul, which commands evil, lest I be afflicted with what has afflicted many who are like me, where they have become accustomed to kissing and standing up. If they feel that a person among those who visit them does not perform this etiquette with them, their soul is afflicted with what afflicted the one I mentioned earlier when he entered the gathering and we said to him, "Azeed, without standing up." So I fear for myself that I will be afflicted with what others were afflicted with. Then I fear for the one who wants to kiss my hand that he will be afflicted with what the scholar of Andalusia, Ibn 'Abd al-Barr, said: "Kissing the hand is the lesser prostration."

The questioner : By Allah, I have not kissed your hand except out of a feeling toward you as toward my father.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good, Professor. We return to the fact that we do not doubt the intention, but the word and the action.
RecitationThe Shaykh : What was facilitated from Surat Ghafir, verse 37 to verse 43.
The session was on 19 Jumada al-Ula 1411.
