The Meaning of the Hadith: The Strong Believer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: How authentic is the hadith that says: Sunan Ibn Majah 4168Sahih (Darussalam), and if it is authentic, what is its meaning and in what does the strength consist?
Answer: First, the hadith is authentic; Imam Muslim narrated it in his Sahih.
And its meaning is: The believer who is strong in his faith, strong in his body, and strong in his work is better than the believer who is weak in his faith or weak in his work and body. This is because the strong believer produces and works for the Muslims, and the Muslims benefit from his physical strength, his spiritual strength, and his practical strength. They benefit greatly from this through jihad in the path of Allah, in realizing the interests of the Muslims, in defending Islam and the Muslims, in humbling the enemies, and in standing against them. This is something the weak believer does not possess. From this perspective, the strong believer is better than the weak believer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said.
So, all faith is good, and the weak believer has goodness in him, but the strong believer has more goodness for himself, for his religion, and for his Muslim brothers. This contains an encouragement to be strong, and the religion of Islam is the religion of strength, the religion of honor, and the religion of elevation, always and forever demanding strength from the Muslims.
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Anfal: 60],And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Munafiqun: 8],And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Imran: 139].
So, strength is required in Islam: strength in faith and creed, strength in work, and strength in the body; because this produces good for the Muslims.
The stronger believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer

وفي كل خيرSo, all faith is good, and the weak believer has goodness in him, but the strong believer has more goodness for himself, for his religion, and for his Muslim brothers. Allah the Exalted said:
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy
And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers
وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَand you will be superior if you are [true] believers.
وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَSo, strength is required in Islam: strength in faith and creed, strength in work, and strength in the body; because this produces good for the Muslims.
