The Salafis say that we are in an age in which Islam is nearly [eliminated], so the Salafis must undertake organized work. How should these brothers be guided?

The questioner : Some of the brothers who claim affiliation with this call, and by this I mean the Salafi call, say that we are now in an age where the world has become interconnected, and there is administration and planning, and so on, by which they plot against Islam and conspire against it. They say, without a doubt, that we cannot face this call that is opposed to Islam in general and to the Salafi call in particular except through organized work, just as they are organized, just as the enemies of Islam are organized. So they interpret the matter and say that we must undertake organized work, what they call [organization], and they arrange the work so that there is a president, and there are cells, and there are things of extreme secrecy that only the special members of this path or this organization know. So how should these brothers be guided, whom we know are eager for the Salafi call and for calling people to good by the Book and the Sunnah?

The Shaykh : If the intention by organization is organizing the call, then there is no doubt that no two people differ on this, nor do two camels butt heads over it, as was said in the old days. But if the intention by organization is organizing the Salafi group in a secret manner, as happened in the past with the Muslim Brotherhood, who then met their calamity that caused their call to retreat, then secret organization is not needed at all today. And in my belief, the obligatory duty of the Salafi callers is to continue in the method of calling to the Book and the Sunnah in this way, openly, with no secrecy whatsoever, because this call is by its nature more acceptable and closer to pure hearts and sound innate dispositions. And there is no doubt that in the end, the state will be for it, and there is no need for them to work in secret. And the day the hearts of the Muslims gather, as we mentioned earlier, on the correct understanding of Islam and its correct application, on that day the desired Islamic state will be established, and the Book and the Sunnah will be implemented, as is also the intention of everyone. As for political work and secret work, even if it is political work that is open and has no secrecy, I believe it is among the distractions that divert the callers to Allah from their call to Allah to preoccupation with political matters. It will divert them from what is more obligatory for them, which is the call. I said earlier that the most obligatory thing for the scholars of the Muslims is to purify this Islam from what has entered it, and that this should be coupled with educating those for whom Islam has been purified in this purified Islam. Where is this group that performed the first obligation and then the second obligation, and all that remains for them is political work? I do not find this now, and I will not find it no matter how long my time lasts, because this requires a long time, and a very long time. Because I look at the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who was ... [suspended] by the rope of the sky and his strength was strengthened by the strong, trustworthy Gabriel (peace be upon him). He remained in his people for twenty-three years calling to Allah. At the end of his life, he was able to place the nucleus of the Muslim state, and then Allah blessed it for his Companions who inherited the caliphate after him, and Islam spread as is known to everyone. So there is no benefit in repeating this. History repeats itself. So I do not find now on the face of the earth a group, whether they are, for example, a hundred, or a thousand, or thousands, or more than that, who are on one heart, understanding Islam with a correct understanding and educating themselves in this Islam with a correct education.
