The questioner : This questioner says: The honorable Shaykh, what is the ruling of the Shari'ah in your view regarding those who recite the Qur'an at wedding occasions, setting up tents for them and preparing sound amplifiers, renting the hour for a large sum of money? This phenomenon is present in some countries. Is this work permissible?

The Shaykh : Yes. There is no doubt that the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family, and there is no doubt that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) honored the words of Allah the Exalted more than we do, and there is no doubt that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was more eager than we are for good and for worshipping through the recitation of the Book of Allah. And yet, it was never part of his way to gather people on wedding days in order to recite the Qur'an to them. Every action that is not based on the command of Allah and His Messenger is rejected by its doer. Therefore, we advise our Muslim brothers to avoid such actions, which are intended as worship of Allah Mighty and Majestic, but which were not transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his family. Yes.
