The questioner : In the last of this questioner's questions, she says: "O honorable Shaykh, most of the time, when I listen to one of the scholars performing the prayer over the radio, it occurs to me that he will recite the end of Surat al-Baqarah, for example, in the first rak'ah, and the end of Surat al-Tawbah in the second rak'ah. I mention this, and it happens just as I said. This happens to me often. I do not claim that I know the unseen; far from it, for none knows the unseen except Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But is this considered a favor from Allah for me?"

The Shaykh : This is not a favor, nor is it knowledge of the unseen. It is a supposition that arises in a person's heart that such and such will happen, and it does happen. This is especially the case if the imam has the habit of reciting the end of Surat al-Tawbah after reciting the end of Surat al-Baqarah; in that case, the listener expects that after he recites the end of Surat al-Baqarah, he will recite the end of Surat al-Tawbah. Not every supposition that arises as the supposer expected is a karamah (a miracle granted to a righteous person) for the person or knowledge of the unseen, because a karamah is an extraordinary matter that Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) manifests through the hand of a wali (close friend of Allah) among His awliya (close friends of Allah). This supposition, which is derived from indications, is not an extraordinary matter. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
