Is it correct to attribute the book (Daf' Shubhat al-Tashbih) to Ibn al-Jawzi?

The Shaykh : My brother, yes, in the critique and vindication of narrators. But do you not know that some of the scholars of the critique and vindication of narrators and the scholars of hadith are also Sufis?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Do you know?

The questioner : Yes, yes, without a doubt.

The Shaykh : Well, if that is the case, have you heard Ibn al-Jawzi’s statement that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is neither inside the world nor outside of it?

The questioner : Yes, that is the statement of the Asha'irah?

The Shaykh : It is the statement of Ibn al-Jawzi.

The questioner : It is the statement of Ibn al-Jawzi, but who held to it before him?

The Shaykh : What do you want with this? May Allah guide you?

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : I am telling you, have you known that Ibn al-Jawzi says that Allah is neither inside the world nor outside of it?

The questioner : By Allah, I have not read this, Shaykh. I did not know it except from you just now.

The Shaykh : Read it in this book of his, and you will find it.

The questioner : Yes, exactly.

The Shaykh : And this is the imam of this Sufi, this wicked one. And peace be upon you.
